Poems

Down there

The doctor asks me to tell her
in my own words, which is

slightly disappointing as I’d
rehearsed as Queen Victoria.

My own words, itch, thrush,
crack, vagina, labia, anus,

were too           coarse.
Queen Victoria would have

been more refined and simply
stated ‘down there.’

Signs of the Times

Slow Vehicle Bay
this is not the name of an upcoming beach

Seatbelts save lives
so does Jesus apparently

Hidden Queue
it may be but the other letters aren’t that obvious either

Slippery when frosty
here you must envisage a vehicle encountering ice
not the mother in law’s attitude.
