Yvette Holt

Yvette Holt is Aboriginal Australian from the Bidjara and Wakaman Nations of Queensland In 2005, Yvette won the David Unaipon Award for an unpublished Indigenous Australian Writer (Queensland Premier’s Literary Award) her collection of poetry titled Anonymous Premonition will be published in 2007. Yvette has had a selection of her poetry published in Incommunicado, Slit Magazine, Meanjin and Hidden Desires which is a contemporary collection of writing and poetry from Australian women.  A Human Rights Award recipient (UTS 2004), an advocator for social justice, mentor and graduate of the National Indigenous Australian Women’s Leadership Program and community facilitator for writer’s workshops Yvette enjoys collecting words then infusing them with emotions.
