Louise Waller

Louise Waller is a poet living in coastal Yeppoon, in Queensland, Australia.

Originally from Brisbane, Louise first published her poetry in 1985, as well as developing performance work. She was awarded 2nd prize in the 2006 Arts Queensland Val Vallis Poetry award and was highly commended in the award in 2001 & 2004. Louise writes poetry reviews and has been published in several Australian journals and online publications, including foam:e, Stylus, Hecate, Blue Dog: Australian Poetry, Papertiger, Idiom 23, Famous Reporter, Haiku Review and the international collection Silence/Stories. Her poem 'a feather will fall to the moon as fast as a hammer' is translated in Bangla and included in 'Kabita Down Under' an anthology of Australian poetry (Patralekha in 2007).

Her first collection Slipway is published in Swelter (Interactive Press
2003) in print form & also available in cdrom/text/cd (IP Digital 2004).
