Simon Patton

Simon Patton has a love-hate relationship with poetry, and is gently interested in thinking about what it is and how it works. He is a devoted student of two Chinese languages, Mandarin and Cantonese, and probably always will be. He is currently reading or re-reading work by Edward Thomas, Maxine Kumin, Judith Rodriguez, Tomas Tranströmer ("the quiet rings like an alarm clock"), Alice Oswald and "the equivalent of John Keats in Armenian poetry" Misak Medzarents. He lives with his partner in country Victoria, not far from Chinaman's Creek.
